Marble Magnets

I saw this idea over at Frugal Girls and thought it looked super simple. This morning I decided to give it a try and discovered it was as simple as it looked. My three-year-old helped, that's how easy it was! He loved using the Mod Podge and let's just say we had it everywhere! For a step-by-step photo tutorial click on the Frugal Girls link above. A photo of the magnets we made is posted below.

Marble Magnets

Mod Podge (glossy)
Sponge applicator
Flat glass marbles (found in the floral section at craft stores)
Small, strong round magnets
Pictures cut out from magazines or scrapbook paper
Hot glue gun

Find small pictures that you would like to use for your magnets.  Bright pictures with vivid colors work great!
Place marble over picture to visualize what it will look like.  Trace around marble, then cut out picture just inside the traced line. Apply a small amount of Mod Podge to the back {flat} side of the marble piece.
Place marble piece on top of the picture, and press down.  Don’t worry the Mod Podge will dry clear! Set aside and allow to dry. Once the picture has dried, attach magnet to the back using hot glue, make sure to use the hot setting on your glue gun.

That's it ...that's all there is to it!

These turned out really cute Tricia! Another idea for you is to paint a snowman face on a piece of white felt & use in place of the picture. Makes a cute snowman magnet ;-)
