Homemade Fabric Softener

I seem to be on this kick of making my own laundry detergent, fabric softener, home cleaning supplies so you'll be seeing several of these types of recipes. Below you will find  also find several  dryer sheet tips.

Homemade Fabric Softener

6 cups HOT water
3 cups white vinegar
2 cups Suave Refreshing Waterfall Conditioner (or your favorite scent)

Mix hot water and conditioner until conditioner is dissolved. Add vinegar and mix well. Store in large empty container such as used fabric softener bottle or empty vinegar bottle.

To use, add to Downy ball or fabric softener area of your washing machine.

 Dryer Sheets Tips

  • Cut dryer sheets in half and store in air tight container, use 1/2 sheet per load.(I've been doing this for a while now and think it works just as well. If I have an extra large load I will use a whole sheet. It's amazing how much longer the box of dryer sheets lasts!)
  • Soak washcloth in full strength fabric softener, wring out the excess then lay flat to dry. Once dry you can toss in dryer with laundry. You can reuse this until the scent has disappeared. You should be able to get a couple dozen uses out it!
  • Mix equal parts water and hair conditioner in a spray bottle. Sprtz clothes prior to drying or spritz washcloth and toss in with clothes.
